SCHOOL AIMS
At Cedar Lodge we aim to provide our pupils with a happy, stable and caring environment in which each child has the opportunity to develop intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and physically. As staff we aim to work closely together as a team, in order to provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum in accordance with the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
Cedar Lodge School, one of the oldest Special Schools in Northern Ireland, is a Belfast Education and Library Board controlled, co-educational, special school catering for the needs of pupils (4 – 16 age range) who experience a range of medical difficulties and associated emotional, social or behavioural problems. The school also provides excellent provision for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Pupils are admitted on the joint recommendation of the schools medical and psychological services and may be transferred back to mainstream provision also on their recommendation.
