HOME ECONOMICS
Home Economics is very much hands on practical subject where the pupils have the opportunity to make interesting and healthy dishes while at the same time studying nutrition, lifestyle and family life. Pupils have the opportunity in year 10 to enter Young Cook of The Year which we have won three times. We also have cookery demonstrations throughout the year from the Dairy Council and the Live Stock and Meat Commission.
In years 11 and 12 the pupils have the opportunity to study Home Economics to GCSE or Entry Level. With the hospitality industry booming, studying Home Economics allows the pupils the opportunity of making a career in this area.
